Self Portrait: In Progress

Throughout the series, I attempt to engage with the turmoil within a person, his fragile psychology, and the ultimate pursuit of inner peace. Francisca Woodman's photography often drew inspiration from introspection, an attribute that I try emulating in this series.
Each picture is sort of like a visual journal, some raw representation of my own emotions while trying to make one's way through depression. Through the play on light and shadow, the turbulent emotional moments of this phase of mental health are expressed, making the audience experience the depth of one's being.
This medium allows me to express the silent struggles and the invisible scars that often go unnoticed. My compositions are instilled with symbolism-subtle yet poignant, mirroring the internal battles waged within my mind.
My creative process is deeply intertwined with introspection and self-exploration. I draw from personal experiences and the shared narratives of those who have grappled with depression. Each picture is a testimony to the resilient human spirit, a reminder that even at the darkest of times, beauty can be found amidst chaos.
This series deals with isolation, longing, and the pursuit of solace- echoes of universal human struggles with mental health. I aspire to create a medium for understanding and empathy between perception and reality.
